Maharaja Express

Maharajas Express has a capacity of 88 passengers in elegantly appointed cabins which include a lavish presidential suite spanning over an entire carriage. Maharaja Express Indian Train, is owned and operated by “Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation” and is the most expensive luxury train in the world. It runs on 5 circuits covering more than 12 destinations across North-West and Central India, mainly centered on Rajasthan between the months of October to April.

Maharaja Express is most luxurious train in India with initially having 23 coaches.The Maharaja Express is carrying tourists from Delhi to Mumbai’s VT station with covering Agra, Ranthambore, Jaipur, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Udaipur and Vadodara destinations within seven days and six nights tour package. The journey from Delhi to Mumbai is called "Princely India Journey" and return trip will be known as "Royal India Tour". Tourists will get chance to see wildlife and tigers while passing through Ranthambore with a memorable tour.

The Delhi-Kolkata route of the Maharaja Express Train will cover Agra, Gwalior, Khajuraho, Bandhavgarh, Varanasi and Gaya. The Delhi-Kolkata route will be named as "Classical India Journey" while the return trip will be called the "Celestial India Tour". The tourists will get to see some natural wildlife while crossing through the Bandhavgarh National Park

Yet unlike the days of maharajas, state of the art amenities such as Wi-Fi in rooms, plasma TVs with satellite channels, DVD players and individual climate control will ensure premium luxury that even the maharajas would envy.

Dining Car
Gracefully appointed Mayur Mahal (Peacock Restaurant) and Rang Mahal (Haveli Restaurant) serve an eclectic mix of delectable cuisines in a relaxing ambiance. Each car can accommodate 42 persons at a time. These minimally furnished and quaintly decorated cabins have been designed keeping in mind the need for comfort and space of the guests.

Bar

Safari Bar is a well-stocked bar with a variety of finest labels of wines and spirits from around the world in an enchantingly decadent setting of a royal safari. Reclaim yourself with a choice from a menu having crème de la crème of wines and spirits along with innovative cocktails.

Lounge

Bedroom Cabins
There are 14 passenger cabins aboard the Maharajas' Express; 5 deluxe cabins, 6 junior suites, 2 suites, and the majestic presidential suite. All the cabins come equipped with either twin beds or a double bed along with direct-dial phones, LCD TVs, DVD players, internet, individual temperature control, and electronic safe. An en-suite bathroom with shower is also available with the cabins.

Lounge, Observation Car and Treasure Chest
Maharajas Club is the plush Observation car with relaxing chairs where guest can observe the landscape spool by. It is also equipped with a library, personal bar and a souvenir shop and a great place to socialize and collect memorabilia.

Maharajas Transport

Transportation comes complimentary for off train excursions at each destination. Whereas the guests in Deluxe Cabins and Junior suites are accommodated in deluxe coaches for sightseeing, the guests in Suites and Presidential suites are provided with cars. All the vehicles have complimentary kits which include candies, shoe uppers, tissues, bottle coolers and other things.

Internet
High-speed internet access is available on board the train. However, the internet signals can vary in the moving train but does improve when the train is at a halt.

Porters
In order to assist your luggage, porters have been appointed at the point of embarkation and disembarkation.

Butlers
Each guest carriage on board the train has been appointed with a personal butler to entertain the guests 24 x 7.

Electricity
The voltage available on board this luxury train is 110/220 volts. International adapters are also provided on the train.

Guides
During the off train excursions, you will be accompanied by professional English speaking guides. If there is any special requirement of language speaking guide, kindly inform us at the time of booking.

Telephone calls
Telephone facilities are available on board. External call charges are additional and are not included in the cost of the journey.

Bed and Bath Linen
In order to maintain hygiene, guests are requested to be cooperative with the staff and let them change bed and bath linens every day.

Hot Water
For hot running water, switch on the geysers 20 minutes before the usage.

Safe
All cabins in the train are equipped with electronic safes. You can keep your travel documents, passport, cash etc in the safe. It is advisable that you have all your personal effects insured.

Hairdryers
All the washrooms on board have hair dryers.

Cabins

The Maharajas Express has a total of 14 guest carriages which have got its names after various precious stones such as Moti (Pearl), Heera (diamond), Neelam (Blue Sapphire), Feeroza (Turquoise), Monga (Coral), Pukhraj (Sapphire) and so on. In these carriages are fitted luxury cabins that are segregated in four categories - Deluxe Cabin, Junior Suite, Suite and Presidential Suite. Out of these, the Presidential Suite, called Navratna spreads itself in an entire carriage is inclusive of two bedrooms, a separate living area, a dining room and a modern private bathroom with a bath tub. These cabins and suites have the capacity of accommodating 88 guests.

The tasteful and royal décor has taken its inspiration from the carriages of the erstwhile royalty of the country which is unmatched for. The cabins are adorned with rich tapestry, linen, upholstery, wall-to-wall carpeting, semi-precious stones and antiques. During your journey, enjoy the beautiful scenery whizzing by from the huge panoramic windows. While having a traditional royal décor, the spacious cabins offer every modern-day facility at par with the International standards. Every cabin is well-appointed with services and amenities like LCD TV, Direct Dial Telephone, choice of twin or king-size bed, Channel music, electronic safety deposit, private bathrooms with plus toiletries, DVD players and much more.

Dining

On-Board the luxurious Maharajas' Express, you will find two thematic fine dining restaurants which will allow you to enjoy delicious meals in a vibrant yet soul soothing environment. The names of the restaurants are aptly suited to the tastefully crafted design, ambiance, and concept.


One of it is "Mayur Mahal", named after India's very own graceful national bird peacock, fondly called as Mayur and the other is "Rang Mahal", which literally means 'The Palace of Colors' decorated with hand painted fresco ceiling. The two fine dining restaurants can comfortably accommodate 42 guests each at any given time. The setup, on one hand, allows seating of two persons who prefer to relish meal over a private chat and on the other hand also provides with seating of four persons for guests who believe in socializing over a hearty conversation while enjoying the meals.


The chefs at Maharajas' Express will be more than delighted to treat you with a range of Indian & International cuisine. Table d'hote meals are included in your fare. Guests can also choose a suitable pairing of wine from a wide range available onboard. All onboard meals-breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner will be held in the two restaurants.

Longue & Bar

For the guests who like to enjoy drinks over a friendly chat, we have two bars. One of it is a Lounge bar- 'The Rajah Club' and the other is a thematic bar named as – 'Safari Bar'. Both the bars provide comfortable & relaxed sitting arrangements to complement the exquisite range of wines & spirits, allowing you to unwind and lighten up. For those who wish to be left alone, we provide a selective collection of books and for those who love to socialize, we do have few board games to play and have fun with.


For the corporate travelers, who want to combine business and leisure onboard the Maharajas' express, we can organize a suitable setup for meetings at the Safari Bar. This bar also serves as a venue for festive events.
